Volunteer send-off update:
The Volunteer Send-off on April 29th was a great success. A mixture of invitees, applicants, returned volunteers and Peace Corps families comprised the audience of 60 people. A panel of three Returned Peace Corps volunteer and two families answered a number of questions about the Peace Corps experience, and information to support volunteers as friends and family members. A special thank you goes out to the Chicago Recruitment Office for their expertise and planning assistance.
Thank you, as well, to Larry's Brown Deer Market for donating the cheese tray.

Host a Social Activity
Do you want to meet more newly returned volunteers? Want to meet others who like the same outdoor activities? Want to try a new ethnic restaurant? We invite you to host a social activity and use this listserv to promote it.
Our MPCA network is a great way to connect with others who share an interest in global issues, international travel, ethnic food and music. The MPCA listserv includes RPCVs, prospective volunteers, current volunteers and their family members, and other globally minded individuals.
MPCA sponsors major events each year that provide an opportunity for you to socialize (July summer picnic, November Parent and Family Brunch, December Ethnic Potluck, the Spring send-off, and two Peace Corps Partnership dinners at ethnic restaurants).
But now it's up to you for other activities! The MPCA board and social coordinator have scheduled monthly social activities with limited attendance in the past few years. So we offer you the opportunity to plan something that you want to do and welcome others to join you. Give folks the details they need about location, cost, and how to contact you. (Include your email address as a link so they don't reply to entire listserv).
