This year's Holiday Folk Fair International will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Peace Corps, and MPCA is helping out in a lot of ways. The Folk Fair is at the State Fair Expo Center from Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20. And there are a lot of third goal opportunities for you to participate in!
Throughout the fair, RPCVs will be performing cooking demonstrations. They'll prepare food from their country of service, and share some of their host country's culture with fair-goers. If you're interested in presenting, please contact us. A complete schedule of the presentations will be available soon.
We will be presenting our Sargent Shriver Award for Community Service and Volunteerism on Friday night. Join us for this special occasion when we honor an RPCV for their outstanding service in the community.
The MPCA will have a booth. We'll be there to talk about Peace Corps with people and share our own experiences. We'll also be selling calendars and t-shirts and be distributing Peace Corps recruiting material. Feel free to stop by and say hi, share some stories, and pick up a few calendars. If you're interested in staffing the booth at some point during the weekend, please let us know.
Finally, be sure to explore the fair! There are lots of countries and ethnic groups represented - spend some time wandering around, meeting people, and sharing your Peace Corps experiences!
